Bras and breast cancer
« on: October 16, 2017, 03:25:17 pm »
I was out with a friend the other night and she warned me about wearing my bra too tight. She said doing that for an extended period of time could lead to breast cancer. Most of what I've seen on the internet has said this is a hoax and not true. Just wanted to make sure it was fake news. Thanks.

You're right -- there's no good scientific evidence that bras cause breast cancer.

See this slide show for more about things that do cause cancer and things that don't:

Thanks Liz. You can't be to careful.

I learned a couple of things from that link.

studies conducted to date have shown that there is no strong link between breast cancer and antiperspirants.

I woldn't have even thought to ask that.

only about 5 to 10 percent of all cancers result directly from mutations inherited from a parent.

I thought the numbers were higher.
